Title - Change Management - Business planning and preparing for change
Aim of this course is to produce well-rounded professional, as it will assist them with their approach to studies as well future business careers. It is very practical and hands on and will not be with extensive class time.
Background & about the course:
The past 10 years have seen significant change in organisations, largely led by IT and business process reengineering projects. These projects have frequently failed to deliver the expected benefits and companies are now focusing on achieving the value they always thought they were going to realise from their investment.
The search for a return on investment has resulted in a growing awareness that to achieve real value from change programs, a comprehensive cross-functional approach must be adopted. A significant problem is that internal resources are scarce and they often do not have the skills, authority or time to do this cross-functional planning effectively.
Traditional project management methods compound the problem. Project reporting generally provides information on progress against time and budget, which is useful but not sufficient. What project management lacks is a focus on value and business outcomes and delivering outcomes requires different techniques.
Our Business planning and preparing for change course will teach the student/professional how to lead the client in creating value and operationalising the business strategy. It will equip the student/professional with the tools and techniques required to deliver a structured approach to drive cross-functional communication and create an explicit understanding of the dependencies each organisational function has on the other functions for its success. It will also address the traditional barriers to change and deal with many of the less common ones.
It is a fun and interactive course and will encourage each student/participant to take an active role in the learning process.
